Another season of outdoor hockey is right around the corner — and player registration for the 2025–26 Twig Hockey season is officially open! Whether your child is just starting out or returning for another great year, we’re excited to welcome families back to the ice for another unforgettable season of community, competition, and cold-weather fun.
There’s nothing quite like hockey under the open sky. At Twig, we carry on a long-standing northern Minnesota tradition of outdoor hockey — building not just great players, but great memories.
Whether your player is taking their first steps on the ice or coming back for another season with their team, we can’t wait to see them out there.
🏒 Who Can Register?
Twig Hockey offers age and skill level programs for boys and girls youth hockey from Learn to Skate to Squirt. Our programs focus on developing skating skills, teamwork, and a love for the game.
Whether you’re brand new to hockey or a seasoned Twig family, there’s a spot for your player this season.
Learn to Skate / Ice Mite - Details
- Age Recommendation: 3–5
- Fee: Free
- A beginner-friendly introduction to skating and fun on the ice.
Mite 1 - Details
- Age Recommendation: 5-7 (typically first and second-year skaters)
- Classification: 6U
- Fee: $125
Mite 2 - Details
- Age Recommendation: 7-9
- Classification: 8U
- Fee: $200
Squirt - Details
- Age Recommendation: 9-11
- Classification: 10U
- Fee: $250

📅 When does it start?
While our outdoor rink is typically ready by early December and melts away in early March, the Twig Hockey Board is actively working to secure indoor ice time this fall for all levels of organized hockey. This allows players to hit the ice earlier, shake off the rust, and begin skill development well before the outdoor season begins. Stay tuned for more details as fall approaches!
